Not just any hand. But Mama’s hand.
I had to have blood drawn the last two mornings. I have never been good with needles. I’ve fainted in the past. Even when Mama is the one getting stuck, I give her a hand to squeeze and avert my eyes. As a kid, Mama always took me out for ice cream after any shots or blood work. As her caregiver, I’ve extended the same courtesy, of course. Since today’s blood work was at 7 a.m., I opted for a bagel instead of ice cream.
Today’s #OneGoodThing is Mama’s hand to hold.
Day 8 of 366.
