Strange call solves door disappearance

Our big exciting dog door solution has taken some unexpected turns. Mama and I have been eagerly awaiting its arrival, which should have been nearly two weeks ago. Unfortunately, the first giant piece of glass they made for us was damaged in shipping.

We followed the FedEx tracking of the second glass door like it was Santa arriving, but there was a hitch in the system last Thursday. Instead of our door being delivered, it suddenly went missing in Oregon and was listed as “Pending.” FedEx put a trace on the package, but that was delayed because of the holiday. Yesterday, we learned the package had been delivered to and accepted by someone else. We were crushed and waiting to hear how the seller would deal with this new twist.

Today we received a bizarre call from BC Welldrilling (odd since we don’t use a well). Thankfully, we answered, because they had our door! A very kind woman named Marsha signed for it and then tracked us down! We couldn’t believe it. Marsha also contacted the seller and arranged for FedEx to pick it back up and deliver it to us. We hope it’ll arrive later this week and we can’t wait to share photos of this wonderful door.

Today’s #OneGoodThing is Marsha the amateur sleuth who tracked us down and is sending our door along its way to us! We are very grateful to Marsha!

Day 361 of 365. And Day 727 in a row!

    • No, it didn’t inspire much confidence in FedEx or the company who shipped the door (the second door apparently had multiple shipping labels). We’re just glad it was located and is now on its way to us! I think the drilling company is in Oregon or Washington, but I’m not sure. They called us yesterday but we didn’t answer because we didn’t recognize the caller ID and thought it might be a scam!
