Smooth infusion day

Tiny Boston stuffy and hot pack for comfort around IV in my arm

It was about as smooth of a day as I could have hoped, given that I was receiving my 11th chemo infusion treatment for Crohn’s Disease.

Thanks to a combo of jet lag and nerves, I woke up early enough to take a seated shower without rushing, and then get back in bed to recover from the shower. That tells you my energy level these days. Apparently, I used every last “spoon” in my reserve to walk us through Venice and get us back home.

My friend Kelley drove me to the hospital, where we got a great parking spot. Then I got to sit in my favorite (read: private) chair in the infusion lab, and even better, the amazing nurse found a vein on the first attempt!

Everything went pretty smoothly, and so on the way home, we went through a surprisingly empty drive-thru line to get In-N-Out burgers for us and our mothers (both Kelley and I take care of our mamas). Even Paisley got a dog patty.

I barely remember much after that because I fell asleep very early in the evening and slept fitfully for about 15 hours. So, dear readers, please accept my apologies on the tardiness of this post.

Wednesday’s #OneGoodThing was a smooth infusion day! Many thanks to my good friend Kelley!!!
