A tidier garden

A tidier garden, and celery and carrot plants

Eager for spring, I started getting our garden ready this afternoon. I weeded and pruned and otherwise tidied an awful mess of overgrown and dead plants.

Our celery plant, which we grew from table scraps, is one of the few to survive winter and neglect. Hopefully, they’ll make a nice addition to stew. The carrots are monstrous because we abandoned them to the gophers that invaded our raised box.

Plans for this year’s crop are only just starting, but it felt great to get back in the garden.
