Today was not great. The Nosy Parker family was back at the emergency vet office because our sweet little Abby’s eye suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Abby has been having eye trouble all summer (first ulcer with infection, rupture and then corneal graft surgery). Both of her eyes had ulcers (common problem for her breed, according to her eye doctor); but the worst of the trouble had been confined to one eye. Until today. I’m now back on hourly eye drop duty, and I’m worried sick about her. Tomorrow we’ll be returning to her eye doctor to see what’s really happening. I pray she won’t need surgery again.

In light of today’s medical drama, I’ve resorted to food for inspiration for today’s #OneGoodThing. These colorful chicken tacos — and Mama’s tortilla-less taco bowl — were delicious. Best of all, I threw this meal together with leftovers!

Today’s #OneGoodThing was Taco Tuesday, I guess. Days like today make writing about #OneGoodThing a difficult project — and all that much more important.
