Some wonderful, unexpected mail brightened an otherwise crappy day (in which I polished off my fifth box of tissues in two days and just narrowly avoided a trip to the ER for dehydration).
A friend from our community in Santa Cruz sent us a surprise package with a beautiful scarf and figurine of a gondola from Venice, Italy. She also included a very sweet letter, a couple of books she loves, a few of Mama‘s favorite local indie newspapers and the Santa Cruz Artist Open Studio booklet. We were deeply touched by her thoughtful package.
It was a really great day for mail in our house. Normally, it is full of junk and bills. But, in addition to the awesome package, my absolute favorite peppermint skin care arrived. And then this turquoise and gold globe locket I fell in love in with on Etsy arrived as well! It is even more lovely in person and I can’t wait to put my photos inside.
Today’s #OneGoodThing was exciting mail to brighten a miserably sick day. Bonus: Here’s a look at the concerned little face that kept a close eye on me all day. I love Nurse Paisley!
Day 353 of 365. And Day 719 in a row!

Paisley looks very attentive. Last year, after surgery our Cat; Chico Baby would spend every day curled up next to me on the bed, with his paw touching, just to say “I’m here” and when I had to keep running to the loo to bring back my last meal. He would guard the door and nor let anyone near 😀 I can see Paisley doing that too 🐶
