We didn’t explore a lot of museums during our trip; it really wasn’t that kind of trip. We were there more to experience Venice. Anyway, Mama Jude’s friend Bruno took us to the Costume Museum and it was AWESOME!
Photos weren’t allowed in the actual museum, but there was one dress on display downstairs where photos were allowed. This beautiful dress (shown to the left) was worn by Madonna in 2011!
There’s a photo of Madonna wearing the dress and here’s what the sign says:
Light blue silk crepe back satin. Embroidery of scattered red and white beaded butterflies.
Worn at the W.E. Premier
Designer: Rodolfo Paglialunga for Vionnet
Courtesy Mrs Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone
Another favorite from the museum was getting to see one of the gorgeously glamorous and sophisticated outfits that Angelina Jolie wore in The Tourist, set in Venice. It was this beautiful cream-colored outfit with an orange scarf around the waist that flowed out behind her in the wind. It was particularly exciting to see this outfit because we’d all watched The Tourist the previous night, and we’d paused it to look out our living room window onto the Grand Canal to see exactly where Johnny Depp jumped onto the fruit market stands in the movie. Thrilling!
