Around a corner

Around a cornerAround a corner, across a bridge. I have no idea where I was, but I was struck by the inherent beauty. I just love Venice. Like I said, getting lost in this magical city is part of the fun.

Plus, I was fascinated by the smaller family boats and their unusual parking spots. The owners of this boat use that little wooden ladder to climb up over the stone wall!

  1. That is the Ponte San Boldo and the Campo San Boldo ahead of you. You were on the Ponte Parrucheta over the Rio San Giacomo da l’Orio [one of several ways to spell that].
San Boldo is Venetian dialect for San Ubaldo (St Ubald of Gubbio). You can see an almost identical photo and learn more about the demolished church here: http://www.churchesofvenice.co.uk/demolished.htm under ‘San Polo’ (about half way down).
