The Nosy Parker family has been waiting all summer long for our favorite variety of pluots to show up at our local farmers market — and today was the day!!!
These pluots may be bright green, but they’re perfectly ripe! They’re called Emerald Beauts and they’re crunchy, juicy and sweet. The insides are bright yellow and lack the awful sourness of its predecessor/cousin, the plum.
Emerald Beauts aren’t ripe until the end of the summer and we’re so glad it’s finally time. We first discovered this variety at a farmers market in Truckee, Calif. about 8 or 10 years ago — and they’ve been an obsession of ours ever since (seriously, once when Mama was in Italy during their entire season, I surprised her by freezing them to make a special holiday treat upon her return)!
Today’s #OneGoodThing was our first taste of Emerald Beauts of the season! Mama calls it “a taste of heaven!”

Well, I’ve never seen a pluot, that I’m aware of. According to Signor Google, they’re delicious!
