Summer Fruit Salad and Brunch with Rachel

summer fruit saladBrunch used to my thing. I used to host friends for Sunday brunch with some regularity. My specialty was challah French toast, and it was usually accompanied by turkey bacon, fruit salad, and mimosas. That seems like a past lifetime now.

Today my friend Rachel came to visit. We used to work together many years ago. Since that also seems like a past lifetime, brunch was fitting. Rather than the challah French toast, I went with an assortment of freshly baked croissants (a la Trader Joe’s). We made a summer fruit salad with all of our seasonal favorites (yep, Emerald Beaut pluots were in there, plus mint from our garden). And Rachel brought a pumpkin coffee cake that was just perfect! Great food with a great friend!Nosy Parker with Rachel
