Today the book “A Dog’s Purpose” by W. Bruce Cameron arrived in our mailbox and I have not been able to put it down.
I even took a bath so I could keep reading while bathing. And I read while I cooked dinner. And I read during commercial breaks, counting the minutes until I could read again. Now I’ve nearly finished the book!
It feels so good to devour a book like this again. My chronic migraines often prevent me from reading as much as I used to, so this felt great!
And the book, written from the dog’s point of view, is so moving. I cried and I laughed out loud. It reminded me of our sweet Abby and the funny things she used to do and the special bond we shared. I even flashed back to the piece I wrote from Abby’s point of view about our adventures in Venice, Italy. This book was truly delightful, reminding me of how much I also loved Garth Stein’s “The Art of Racing in the Rain.”
Today’s #OneGoodThing was this funny and tender book so beautifully written. It has brought comfort to my grieving soul and I can’t wait to finish it so Mama can read it too.
Day 335 of 366.
