“The funnier sex”

History of Comedy Lucille BallTonight Mama and I watched a wonderfully entertaining and informative docu-series about women in comedy.

“The funnier sex” was the second of eight episodes in CNN’s “The History of Comedy” that’s airing Thursday nights through March. The show features tons of archive footage and interviews with stand-ups, talk show hosts and comedy writers.

We loved this episode highlighting so many of our favorite hilarious women: Lucille Ball, Joan Rivers, Carol Burnett, Elaine May, Lily Tomlin, Gilda Radner, Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen Degeneres, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, Ali Wong, Margaret Cho, Leslie Jones, and more. It was so interesting to hear their stories.

We happen to love funny, strong, fierce women in this house. Today’s #OneGoodThing was this great docu-series about the history of brave, funny women. We really needed the laughs.
