Beating the record heat

The temperatures in our city reached 110° today — that’s insane! Luckily, we’d seen news reports with heat warnings so we could prepare.

I did our usual Friday grocery shopping early today so that I could finish before the heat got insufferable. Also, I made sure to finish washing all of our laundry and dishes during the middle of the night so that we wouldn’t have to run any large appliances today. I also gave the garden an extra late-night watering.

It may be dangerously hot outside, but we’ve got clean clothes, fresh food, clean dishes and a clean house. And thanks to an earlier heat wave this summer, we’ve got a portable air conditioning unit! So although we are miserable in this heat, I am grateful for all this that we have and that is today’s #OneGoodThing.

Day 244 of 365. And Day 610 in a row!
