Today I finally finished taking down our creative backyard shade solution.
Mama and I had planned to take down the green shade cloth a few weeks ago. We’d decided it was time the night before the fires, but we left it up a while longer because the air quality was too dangerous to be outside.
While we knew the shade cloth would need to come down before the winter rains, we’d hoped to leave the stainless steel cable and solar lights in place. Sadly, the strong winds that accompanied the fires were too much for the cable and it frayed and broke. The lovely white curtains were destroyed as well.
It’s taken a while to clean up the yard from all of the ash, but now we are prepared for the forecasted rain. The shade cloth is down and the cushions are cleaned and put away! I was both sad to see it gone and relieved that it was done. And that is today’s #OneGoodThing.
Day 306 of 365. And Day 672 in a row!
