Back on the jab wagon

B12 injection

Vial of B12 (Cyanocobalamin) and needle

After Friday’s MAJOR FAIL at self-injecting, I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to get past the fear and pain and stab myself again. After all, I still have a large bruise/welt more than 48 hours later. Not cool.

So it was a massive feat of courage to try again today — but I did it!

I attribute today’s success to several bits of advice from friends in my autoimmune pernicious anemia support group. The best advice shared was to switch out the needle tip after drawing up the B12 with a fresh needle before injecting (this avoids jabbing oneself with a blunted needle). My B12 buddies were a hugely supportive.

Today’s #OneGoodThing was getting back on the horse and successfully giving myself my injection.

Day 108 of 366.

    • Very shaky terrified hands! It seems I likely hit a vein and a nerve in one thigh on Friday, which is why it is so bruised and painful. I really wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to jab myself again. What a relief to get over the hurdle of trying again!
