We have been aching for summer fruit, but it’s just not available where we live yet. This winter feels too long (and we don’t even get snow here).
Anyway, on my regular Friday grocery shopping trip today, these glorious strawberries were finally sweet and ripe! It’s like fruit telling us, “hold on, better things are coming.” Ok, it’s been a long day.
But the strawberries were truly delicious. Plus, a sweet woman working in produce (who I now visit with each week while shopping following her shy inquiry of where she could get a face mask like mine for her granddaughter, a recent transplant recipient) kindly put together a bursting box without any bad berries for me. It really touched my heart and made my day. The strawberries and my experience getting them were today’s #OneGoodThing.
Day 55 of 365.
