Creative shade solution

#OneGoodThingAs the weather gets warmer, we’ve been brainstorming ideas on how to improve our outdoor living space in our backyard.

We enjoy spending a lot of time out there, but last summer, the scorching heat ended up limiting our enjoyment of the oasis we’d created. By the end of the season, we remembered an old EZ-Up 10’10’ tent that we had tucked away in the garage. It was a nice shade and privacy source for a while, but then a windstorm destroyed the frame.

I knew I had until it got hot again to come up with a new and better solution. My plan was to figure out a way to rig up shade without adding any additional structures or vertical lines. After much online research and talking with a few experts, I finalized the exact design specifics, drew a diagram and sourced the necessary supplies to keep us cool all summer long! Stay tuned… once it is installed, I’ll share a photo and explain the design.

Today’s #OneGoodThing was figuring out the specifics of my creative shade solution for our backyard.
