The best part of today was a wonderful visit with family friends — one of whom we hadn’t seen in more than a decade!

Mama and I loved reconnecting with Marti last year; we could talk forever and still have more to say. We just adore her. Marti’s oldest son was one of my best friends growing up, and I spent a lot of time at their house.

We hadn’t seen Marti’s younger son since he was a teenager. They drove up to Santa Rosa today to donate a van to a family who lost everything in the fires. We really enjoyed getting to know grown-up Galen, who is a total foodie and thoughtful, articulate guy.

Today’s #OneGoodThing was spending a marvelous Friday afternoon and evening with Marti and Galen! Plus, they introduced us to an incredible gourmet pizzeria and wine bar called Rosso. The mushroom pizza was mouthwatering perfection with a hint of lemon and artichoke shavings. Our Bellinis were also delicious and fresh. We will definitely return!
