Nearly two months ago, we told you about our great new dog door solution. We expected it would take 3 to 4 weeks in total from order to installation, but it had several hiccups along the way.
The first door was damaged in shipping; the second door was lost in shipping, and the surprised receiver tracked us down around Christmas. Then, that second door was finally re-delivered to us last week, and it was broken as well! A third door made its way to us surprisingly quickly — and thankfully intact. This afternoon, a wonderful local glass installer came over and popped it in for us. He did a great job and was very kind.
Paisley took to the new door quickly. The magnet is much stronger than our crappy old dog door insert, so it took some practice. After just a few minutes of treats coaxing her back and forth, she got the hang of it!
The other fantastic perks are now we’ll be much warmer inside our home, and the railing we had installed out the back door is much more accessible (it had been difficult to reach around the insert to grab the railing). Yay for warmth and increasing Mama‘s safety!
Today’s #OneGoodThing was the changing of our back door! The process was long and frustrating, but we are so pleased with the result! And if you need a superb and affordable glass expert in the Santa Rosa area, look no further than The Glass Man, Chris Giro!!!
Day 11 of 365. And Day 742 in a row (here’s the first 366 & the following 365)!

In a world where negativity is plenty, my rebellious side likes to keep things positive. Many “good” things happened today but by far, without a doubt the best thing was learning about #OneGoodThing. For me, meeting Nosy Parker was one of those restoring faith in Humanity moments. Many of us do good things but are seldom recognized for it. Some of us prefer it that way. “Character is about the things we do when no one is watching”. I am very proud to be a part of Nosy Parkers #OneGoodThing today. Thank you for taking the time to write about Good things. Thank you for taking care of your Mother and of course, Ms. Paisley.
