A new pottery studio recently opened in Sebastopol, about a 10-minute drive from our home. Mama and I could not pass up an opportunity to throw clay on a wheel and signed up for an introductory class tonight. We’ve been looking forward to it for weeks!
We were about 15 students in total and each made two vessels — one on the wheel and one hand built with fun patterns. They’ll be fired and glazed a lovely blue, and we get to pick them up in a few weeks. The teachers and other students were nice and very helpful.
After class, Mama and I enjoyed a reverse dinner. Upon the recommendation of a fellow student, we indulged in ice cream at a yummy shop next door. Then we got tacos on the way home. Who says dessert must be last?
