A quiet, restful birthday

Not only is today one of my favorite holidays (happy 420 friends), but it’s my birthday! My plans for the day were thwarted so I pivoted to a relaxed day at home.

I enjoyed my favorite herb while I worked on a puzzle and watched old CSI Miami episodes. I ate delicious food that I didn’t have to prepare. And I took a decadent nap stretched out in bed (with Benny, of course).

Even the mail was great—this gorgeous, fun, pink marijuana leaf fabric was delivered! Thank you to my friend and expert cannabis gardener Emily for this beauty!!! I can’t wait to make cool stuff with it!

The highlight of my birthday was my favorite cake. It’s a SusieCakes 6-layer chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and it is perfection. Friends, this is the same type of cake I acquired for Self Care Cake Day and it was worth a drive with sciatica pain. And this cake has a turquoise ombre around it! Be still my heart! I’ll be sharing this tasty cake with Mama tomorrow, but I couldn’t wait. I dug straight in with a fork, which if you’ve never tried, I recommend.
