The 3 Visitors

Abby and Maxine

Abby and Maxine

The Nosy Parker family had 3 visitors today — a big day!

The first was Mama‘s friend Maxine who is in town visiting her adorable grandson. Mama and Maxine met on a Blues cruise many years ago and have kept in touch. It was lovely to visit with her. Abby showered Maxine in kisses and they were too cute not to capture in a photo!

Next up was an unexpected guest, but one we’d been hoping to see for weeks! A bird! We put up a new bird feeder right by our back door about two weeks ago and have been eagerly awaiting the local birds to discover it. We weren’t sure it would ever happen as a feeder we’d put out in the garden when we first moved here went neglected. But today that all changed. I couldn’t tell what kind of bird it was, but I know I saw blue feathers. Sadly he flew away after locking eyes with Abby on the inside and I was not able to snap a photo. Better luck next time, I hope!

And our third and final visitor of the day was Abby’s rehab doctor, with whom we’ve become friends… because that’s who we are. Also, we spend a lot of time with her now every week, and she’s awesome! So Kelley stopped by to help me out because I have a thing against needles and our Abby requires weekly B12 shots (just like me!). Although Abby doesn’t seem to feel the needle, I get very nervous and hate giving her the shots myself. I can do it, in a pinch, but I don’t like it. So Kelley sometimes helps me out with them. She’s great like that.

Today’s #OneGoodThing was the joy from visitors — unexpected and not!

Day 79 of 366.
