Tonight begins the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. For many, many years, Mama and I went to services on this night.
For the last several years, we have been unable to attend due to poor health. Tonight we got to participate and feel part of a Jewish community again. We live-streamed services from Nashuva in Los Angeles with the incomparable Rabbi Naomi Levy. I was even able to download and print the prayerbook for tonight’s services.
We absolutely loved Rabbi Levy! She made us feel welcome right from the start when she welcomed the thousands watching online from around the world. The services were engaging, spiritual, and meaningful. Rabbi Levy gave a touching sermon woven with stories from her life.
Today’s #OneGoodThing was joining the Nashuva community for Kol Nidre services. May those who are fasting this holiday, have a meaningful fast.
Day 272 of 365. And Day 638 in a row!
