Last winter we had a problem with mold inside the wall, which might be why we got sick for months. The source of the water was unclear, but Mama and I were advised it was likely the roof.
We began talking with roofers, and multiple companies told us that our roof wouldn’t last another winter. We don’t live in a large house, but it is single-story so the quotes were all well above $15,000. I had such anxiety about how the hell we’d manage this; it has kept me awake at night worrying, especially as rain falls.
A new roofer came by to take a look today; he was recommended by our kind contractor friend, Brad, who’s helped us before. When Ruben descended from our roof, he gave us the miraculous news that our roof didn’t have to be replaced! I had to stop myself from kissing him with joy! This is such a massive relief!!!
Today’s #OneGoodThing was discovering we don’t have to come up with an insane amount of money to replace our roof right now! Hallelujah!!! Special thanks to Ruben and Brad!
Day 15 of 365. And Day 746 in a row (here’s the first 366 & the following 365)!

That is such good news, Gabriana. Phew!! Paisley won’t have to go on short rations after all. 🙂

Isn’t it wonderful? Such a relief!!! But I’d never let Paisley or Mama go on short rations; that would certainly be my job! I’d protect those two with my own life!
