Venice is experiencing an unusual September heat wave — it’s muggy and sticky, and seems to only cool down for a couple hours around 5 a.m. This sort of weather is exactly why we don’t come to Venice in the summer.
Mama and I were massively grateful when our landlord showed up at our apartment with a fan for us this morning. After a harrowing journey to get here, the unrelenting humid heat, and mosquitoes eating us alive, we needed a day of rest to recuperate.
Though we didn’t venture out into the city, we got to enjoy seeing Venetian life on the canal outside our window.
Today’s #OneGoodThing was a much-needed recovery day with a canal view and a fan!
Day 258 of 365. And Day 989 in a row (here’s the first 366 & the following 365)!
1 year ago today: Paisley’s great day
2 years ago today: A seriously good laugh

What is your landlord’s name? I think an acquaintance may have stayed in your apartment.

He’s called Massimo. But the apartment isn’t usually rented out. We got lucky because it happened to not be in use for this time, and Massimo is friends with another local friend of ours, Davide.
