A very Italian evening

Clockwise from top L: Bellini, View of Venice, Mama and me with Noeleta and Gian Paolo, Spaghetti and Gnocchi

Tonight featured our first Italian Aperol Spritz and Bellini of the trip, new friends, and plenty of pasta!

Mama and I got together with Noeleta, a fellow Californian we met in the Zurich airport on the way to Venice. It was so lovely to see her again and to meet her Italian family. The sunset view from the restaurant/bar near Giardini was magnificent!

Following yesterday’s nice rest day, it was a perfect venture back into the city. We walked much farther than previous days. Mama is learning to navigate the many stairs with her rollator walker, while I attempt to plot routes for us with fewer bridges and steps.

After the evening drinks, Mama and I took a leisurely stroll through Venice, slowly making our way home. When we got hungry, we stopped for pasta along the way. Mama enjoyed spaghetti al bolognese and I had the gnocchi.

Today’s #OneGoodThing was a very Italian evening in Venice with Mama! Bonus #OneGoodThing: At the end of the night, I scoped out our neighborhood in Castello a bit more on my own, to see the best path for Mama. Our new friend Jonny, of Trattoria da Jonny, just across the canal from us, showed me the best shops to buy fresh produce, focaccia, wine, and more, in our neighborhood! Many thanks Jonny!!!
