Purple indicates mandatory evacuations; Yellow shows power outage; we live just above the R in Roseland
We spent the weekend refreshing the emergency map, watching weather conditions, and checking in with neighbors. Early Sunday morning, the mandatory evacuations were expanded to just two big blocks away from us.
Miraculously, we still had electricity. But we felt like the evacuations were closing in on us. The stress of it all was just too much.
A wonderful friend from high school offered us her guest room. After spending most of the day packing and trying not to freak out, we evacuated just after 10:30 last night. It was a long drive and we were touched by our very warm middle-of-the-night welcome.
Sunday’s #OneGoodThing with Mama was arriving safely in Sacramento! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! Kindness is Everything.
