Connection during a shutdown

Despite the statewide mandatory Shelter-in-Place order, we have felt incredibly connected to friends, our community, and the world this week.

Looking out the window, I saw a complete stranger methodically picking up trash in the “moat” in front of our house and shouted my thanks through the screen!

Later, our friend Julie suddenly appeared on our doorstep and presented us (through the closed window) with these adorable tiny sculptures made of nuts and bolts—a peacock for Mama and a cute dog for me!

In the evening, Mama and I joined a virtual sing-along started by a friend of mine in San Francisco. It was inspired by the videos of Italians singing together out their windows while under quarantine. For the second night in a row, Mama and I belted out the chosen song in our backyard. Tonight we got to join the live video and see my friend’s sweet dog, Lucy!

On top of all that goodness, we also got to connect with loved ones by phone and video chat! Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama was feeling connected during a shutdown! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! Kindness is Everything.

On this day…
