My birthday is this week and our state remains under Shelter-at-Home orders. I had been feeling very down and dreading it because all of my plans got nixed, including a long-anticipated visit from my bestie.
Miraculously, despite being in isolation, I felt surrounded by love from friends and family. Birthday wishes came by package, cards, calls, text, email, and Facebook. I felt bowled over by the outpouring of love and light.
Our friend Anne of Sonoma Crust Bakery delivered us a birthday feast—complete with surprise giant cupcakes filled with creamy goodness inside! Mama ordered this magnificent turquoise beaded necklace for me that I’ve been eyeing for months from a local artist I adore called MorninGloria’s! The incredibly sweet Gloria even included DIY stretch beaded bracelet kits for Mama and me, and her partner delivered the giftbag to our doorstep!
Mama and I had a lovely day together puttering around in our garden and baking a two-layer chocolate raspberry birthday cake. The day was further made special because I got to dedicate my now-weekly feature #RaiseUpExtraordinaryWomen to the extraordinary woman who raised me! Thanks to Mama for sharing her story!
Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama was a birthday both beautiful and sweet, despite isolation! Huge thanks to everyone who sent their love and good wishes! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! Kindness is Everything.
Day 112 of 366. And Day 1,573 in a row (here’s the first 366, & the following 365, & the third year of 365 good things, & the 4th year of good things)!
