The triple-digit heatwave finally broke! But since it was still in the 90s and smoky, we didn’t feel up to doing or eating much.
Tonight’s dinner was just corn on the cob—steamed in the microwave and slathered in Kerrygold salted butter. It was simple but delicious!

I’d never had corn on the cob (or off it) until I visited America in 1969, aged 21. We Brits were very unadventurous in those days.
