Your Jewish and Israeli friends are not okay right now. I imagine your Muslim and Palestinian friends are also not okay. The last two weeks have been terrifying for all of us. I mourn for our dead. And I mourn for the innocent Palestinian civilians lost to the conflict.
Please remember that the conflict is not solely some far-away war. We are experiencing a huge increase in antisemitism—both online and in the real world, particularly from fellow liberals. Being a liberal Jew is lonely at the moment.
I am thankful for the Jewish community’s resilience as we grieve together and support one another. But only ONE non-Jewish friend has checked in on me. So now I know who would have hidden me during the Holocaust.
Never again is now.
Today’s #OneGoodThing is dedicated to the single non-Jewish friend who reached out to see if I was okay! Thank you! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!
