For as long as I can remember, my adorable Mama has always had a single day-after-Thanksgiving tradition — and it isn’t shopping.
When she was a little girl, her grandmother would make Thanksgiving turkey dressing (some call it stuffing) for the family meal, but she’d put some in this sweet little tin just for her. This heart-shaped baking dish of dressing is her special Friday brunch, and it means the world to her.
Since we were honored to be included in our neighbors’ holiday feast, we didn’t make our family’s traditional dressing this year. During my last market trip, I picked up a tray of their delicious pre-made holiday stuffing and froze it. When Mama wasn’t looking today, I transferred it to her heart-shaped tin and added her favorite Thanksgiving spice.
Today’s #OneGoodThing was how happy Mama was to be surprised with her beloved tradition upheld.
Day 328 of 365. And Day 694 in a row!
