As Spring approaches, Mama and I are getting ready to plant our garden. Today we took the next step toward that goal.
We are thankful to have a giant, raised planter box built for us by my cousins when we first moved here. This year, before we could begin planting, we needed to give the box a little extra love to prepare it for the onslaught of summer heat and watering.
Mama and I sanded off the old stain that was cracking and peeling. Together we made the entire top smooth and splinter-free again. Then I painted a stain into the exposed wood. This “after” photo is only one coat, but it looks wonderful already!
Today’s #OneGoodThing was (pretty much) completing the next step in getting our garden bed in top shape and ready for planting! Mama and I enjoyed talking about what our garden will be like this summer and we’re really excited! Thanks again to Laura and David for building us this beautiful planter box raised high enough for Mama to be able to sit along the edge and participate in gardening!
Day 69 of 365. And Day 800 in a row (here’s the first 366 & the following 365)!
1 year ago today: Fantastic lunch with friends
2 years ago today: Getting what’s needed
