I made dozens of Hamentashen today, but I froze when I rolled out my dough and it crumbled. Lucky for me, I was able to call up the cookbook author, because she’s a dear family friend. She talked me through and gave me extra tips.
While I was baking, I thought about the many times I’d made these special triangular-shaped cookies with friends—from making and delivering them to the local senior home with classmates at my Jewish day school to making them with friends in college before dressing up and going to parties.
These cookies are probably my favorite part of the Jewish holiday of Purim. Today’s flavors included apricot, seedless raspberry, chocolate, lemon curd, chocolate apricot, and chocolate raspberry.
Today’s #OneGoodThing was getting help with my Hamentashen and enjoying them with Mama! Many thanks to Lisa Rauchwerger, author of “Chocolate Chip Challah” and kind friend! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments!
