Amaryllis progress

Amaryllis bulb blooming progress, 3 weeks (clockwise starting bottom left)

In the cold of winter, Mama and I miss our garden and the thrill of watching it blossom. We’ve found that same joy during many winters over the years by watching a red Amaryllis bloom on our kitchen counter.

When I brought these two wax-covered bulbs home from Trader Joe’s three weeks ago, they were only a few inches tall. They’ve shot up about a foot and just started opening their flowers. Mama and I joke that we could sit and actually see them grow before our eyes.

Today’s #OneGoodThing was following the lovely Amaryllis bulb progress with Mama!

Day 363 of 365. And Day 1,094 in a row (here’s the first 366 & the following 365)!

1 year ago today: A safer ride for the wet season

2 years ago today: Chanukah jelly donut holes

  1. I also love Amaryllis and bought quite a lot over the years, the last one in a wax container in 2017.

Concerning your comments about its growth, I agree about watching the phenomen, which I did stare at : the stem does tremble or shakes à bit.

Happy New Year to rhe two of you, and health in Premium.

    Lorraine.

    • Thank you for sharing your Amaryllis love, Lorraine! Isn’t it a joy to see something grow so quickly? Ours have now opened up into the most glorious blooms… I’ll have to make it a new post in the next few days. Wishing you a happy new year as well!!!
