Tonight I attended the last night of Shiva, a mourning ritual, for my childhood friend Jenessa who passed away last week. The service was beautiful and many people shared stories of Nessa and how she touched their lives.
The highlight of such a difficult, sad day was reuniting with another childhood friend from Yavneh, our small Jewish Day School. We’d kept in touch on Facebook, but Aarika and I hadn’t seen each other in person since we were 13! It was wonderful to be reunited and reminisce together.
Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama is remembering Jenessa together! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!

I truly enjoyed our visit and look forward to more on happier occasions. Mourning Jenessa has been a hard road for me to navigate and being there with you made it just the slightest bit easier. ❤️🩹

I feel the same, Aarika, and I’m so glad we could be there to support each other.
