Mama and I enjoyed a non-traditional holiday for her first Thanksgiving since moving to Assisted Living.
I arranged for Mama to be transported back to the house, given my post-infusion fatigue. When she arrived, I had a lovely cheese board waiting for her with two types of cheeses, crackers, nuts, and veggies including tomatoes fresh from the garden.
Thus fortified, we went for a short neighborhood walk to visit all of Mama’s neighbor friends. Since she’d moved out quickly, there hadn’t been time to go around and say goodbye. They were all thrilled to see her again! The kind owner of the vintage truck she loves even had a gift of a tiny matching truck for her!
We returned to the house to devour prime rib and mashed potatoes—all prepared by Costco. We loved not eating turkey today! I sent Mama back home with the leftovers and wine. I didn’t have the energy to make pies, so I got us these delicious pumpkin pie cookies from Crumbl.
Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama is a special Thanksgiving! We wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!
