The culture confirmed it; I’ve got shingles. Apparently, it is a common side effect of immunosuppressive treatment (which I’ve been on for years for Crohn’s).
I’m “lucky” to have caught the shingles early and started treatment, but it has spread. You might think, oh this is just a rash. Oh damn, you’d be so wrong. This is waves of spasming, stabbing pains in my head, neck, ear, and eye. This is feeling like the right side of my brain is exploding. Normally I hate taking any kind of opioid, but this is not my normal chronic pain.
There would be absolutely nothing good to say about today if it weren’t for my dear friend Kelley, who is always there for me in an emergency. She picked up my prescription for stronger painkillers from the pharmacy because I can barely move my neck and it didn’t seem prudent to drive.
Today’s #OneGoodThing is the good stuff from a good friend! Many thanks to Kelley!!! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!

Damm, I’m sorry to hear this, I’ve just had the 2nd Shingrix vaccination as I noted that many of my friends & colleagues that were close to or at retirement age had developed Shingles ansd, to varying degrees, and it can truly be life changing.
I hope your treatment keeps the worst at pay, you’re in our thoughts every day x
