A wee backyard bouquet

Our garden has fewer flowers than ever because this is our first summer without our annual Summer Garden Party celebrating Mama’s triumph over brain cancer. Don’t worry—she’s still miraculously beating the odds, but we physically couldn’t do the party anymore.

Admittedly, it feels odd and the backyard looks a bit wrecked. Though much pared down, this year’s garden features several flowers, tomatoes, and my favorite medicinal herb.

I gleaned this tiny bouquet, which looks better in my hand than in a vase. But it is still lovely. The flowers are a Dahlia, Blue Hibiscus, Purple Salvia, and Zinnias with a stem of beautiful cannabis leaves peeking out from behind.
