We are growing three varieties of tomatoes in our backyard veggie garden this year. So, to determine which one is our favorite, I created a blind taste test for Mama!
The three contestants were a Sweet Seedless Hybrid, a Bushsteak Hybrid, and an Early Girl. The first two varieties were starter plants we ordered from Burpee, and the last was a starter plant from a local nursery.
I selected similarly sized tomatoes from each variety, so that shape/size wouldn’t give the game away. And then I labeled A, B, and C. Can you guess which is which from the photos?
By unanimous vote, without any question, the winner was… Early Girl! These gems were so incredibly sweet that we savored each bite. Mama said they tasted like candy! I can’t wait to make a Caprese with them.
Today’s #OneGoodThing was a enjoying a tomato taste-off with Mama!
Day 218 of 365. And Day 949 in a row (here’s the first 366 & the following 365)!

I like the Kumatos, and have grown some from their seeds. They were vigorous, but the pests loved them too. So, it was a race to see who got there first.
