I had surgery to remove my gallbladder yesterday and I’d be lying if I said I was anything but miserable. It probably doesn’t help that I’ve also got my 9th bladder infection in 6 months—a fact we learned today just in time for our beloved More Diane to pick up my antibiotics before returning home. For this, I am immensely grateful.
Though the day after surgery is misery, today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama was the immense kindness of our dear friend! As you can see, my recovery is being supervised by Paisley. What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! Kindness is Everything.
Day 23 of 366. And Day 1,484 in a row (here’s the first 366, & the following 365, & the third year of 365 good things, & the 4th year of good things)!
On this day…
- 1 year ago: Key lime impatience
- 2 years ago: Mud baths and mineral pool
- 3 years ago: Boston buddy visit
- 4 years ago: Skating on a Saturday

Being sick helps us to realize our vulnerability and our humanity….and our reliance on family and friends. My husband turns 79 today and he, also, is in pain and overwhelmed by his “humanity.” I am thankful to be with him and to have the health and strength to support him.
