As curious foodies, Mama and I are always intrigued by Sonoma County Restaurant Week. We’ve mostly skipped it because we avoid crowds and loud dining atmospheres. But this year, because of the pandemic, we got to participate and support a local restaurant offering curbside take-out!
Mama and I were both excited to taste the cuisine of La Gare, an upscale French restaurant in Santa Rosa’s Railroad Square. This was the most elaborate and fanciest meal we’ve eaten in more than a year. It included FOUR courses (soup de jour not pictured) and each was absolutely delicious! This was also our very first Black Forrest Cake and WOW! I need to make this!
Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama was experiencing Restaurant Week at home! Many thanks to La Gare in Santa Rosa for this mouth-watering feast!!! What a special treat! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!

This looks delicious! I can’t believe you haven’t had Black Forest cake before! I guess we were too young when you were on Germany to ask for this. It’s so delicious. I’ve been meaning to make one myself.

It was all delicious!!! And I can’t wait to try and make that cake! How funny that we were too young for this cake but not beer! I still remember that fun beer festival and I was so shocked to be 13 and given beer!

Somehow I missed that comment. Haha. Yes the Germans and their beer. It’s kind of water to them.
