Despite being exhausted from traveling, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to meet one of my new favorite authors!
Steven Rowley, who wrote the magnificent book The Guncle, was in nearby Healdsburg. He was promoting his new book, The Celebrants, at a wine-and-book event hosted by a local bookshop.
I was one of two patrons happily wearing caftans in honor of Rowley. He spoke about his four books, his writing process, and his husband who is also an author. He answered lots of questions and was so kind!
I loved getting to meet him and tell him how much his work means to me and about my Guncle-style vacation. I got his new book and my own copy of Guncle (I read it first from the library, then on kindle). And he signed the two books for me as well!
Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama is meeting the author Steven Rowley! (Mama was not feeling up to an event this evening, but couldn’t wait to hear all about it when I got home.) What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!
