This feels like a momentous new year for me. I’m still caregiving, but my role has evolved.

My goal this year is to focus on making myself a priority in my life. I’ve got plans and ideas percolating, and I look forward to sharing this year’s adventures.

After a bit of cleaning and then resting, I gathered the energy to take Benny and Paisley on a short neighborhood walk. We saw the truck Mama loves that we named Fred and this beautiful flower. I was feeling so good about being out taking a walk on January 1.

And then Paisley rolled on her back in dog shit. So yeah, that’s how my new year is going. We went home and I marched her right into the bath! The day went comically off track, but I’m proud of myself for handling it all and getting so much done.
