A month ago I had to stop my daily B12 injections for Autoimmune Pernicious Anemia.
Insurance wouldn’t continue to cover the medication without a levels test to prove I need it—even though I have a diagnosed and documented autoimmune disease that literally means I can’t absorb B12 through my gut. The break in treatment was to prevent falsely elevated numbers.
Being off these daily injections has been very difficult. My headaches, brain fog, joint pains, and fatigue all worsened. It’s been a painful month.
Though I was eager to restart treatment, it turned out that my needle phobia also increased without the daily exposure. I was so anxious about injecting myself again today, but I did it.
Today’s #OneGoodThing is resuming B12 injections! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!
