Our favorite fruit—the Emerald Beaut pluot—isn’t quite in season yet. However, the similar varieties called Flavor Grenade and Flavor Queen are ripe now. And they were the only reason I left the house or even dragged myself from bed today.
Thankfully our favorite farmers are kind and patient and always answer my questions about the differences. The Flavor Grenade (on the left) is smaller, shaped more like a grenade, and crunchier. The Flavor Queen (on the right) is a bigger fruit and sweeter. The Emerald Beaut (not pictured) is the best of both worlds—super sweet and crisp!
When I returned home from my very quick trip the farmers market, both dogs went wild to see me. I ended up on the floor with a lapful of Bostons! Hooray!
Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama was a fresh bag of delicious pluots from the Ponce Family Farm! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!
