After a very aggravating week, today’s highlight was tackling my recycling piles that got tossed around wildly in the last storm.
I sorted everything and brought to a recycling center, where I was shocked at how little money I got back for the enormous amount of bottles and cans I brought.
Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama was sorting the recycling! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!

We get nothing for recycling in the UK. Except that I take aluminium cans to a scrap metal yard, where the bags of crushed cans are weighed and I get about 50p for 1 kg. It takes about 60-70 cans to make 1 kg. I saw a programme on TV years ago about really poor people in America. There was a little girl, 10 or 11 years old who collected cans for money. She said she got slightly more for cans that were not “squished”. Why would that be?
