An anonymous donor and a swim

Today I took a huge step in making myself a priority in my own life. I went swimming. By myself.

As a caregiver of 12+ years, I feel serious guilt whenever I do something just for myself. I struggle to put myself first so today was a very big deal.

A local health club with a heated lap pool is offering a New Year’s special on their off-peak membership. I tested out the club today to see what I thought. I had a reserved lane all to myself, other swimmers were friendly, and the jets in the hot tub felt like a massage. Stretching out in the water felt restorative on my hypermobile joints and it was good to feel the sunshine.

As I was driving home wondering how I could ever afford even the discounted rate, I got a call from our friend at Hebrew Free Loan who helped us finance our beloved used vehicle. The most incredible news! An anonymous group paid off the remainder of our loan! Wow, mind blown! We are so very grateful!!!

Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama is going for a lovely free swim and then getting the incredibly generous and freeing news that our car loan is paid off! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!
