Fresh gourmet burgers and shakes arrived at our doorstep just as the virtual book club began.

Mama and I logged onto Zoom to see my favorite author—Jennifer Weiner—appear on the top of the screen, above the event leader from Hadassah.

This is the second Big Summer virtual book tour event I’ve attended, after recently winning a signed, advance copy of the new novel.

Tonight the focus and questions leaned more toward family and being Jewish. Mama and I didn’t want the conversation to end! I identify with so many of the characters Weiner writes, as well as the author herself. I have been a diehard fan since her first novel. What a joy to get Mama hooked on her writing too!
