Accidentally growing a lifetime supply of cucumbers

The smoke in the air kept me from harvesting our garden for about a week—resulting in some of the largest zucchini I’ve ever grown and a lifetime supply of cucumbers!

We put out the word to local friends. Two of the smaller (but still massive) zucchini found new homes today. The bonus was visiting through the window when they came for porch pickup (Bonnie in the upper left and Margo in the upper right). Even Paisley got in on the social call at the window!

The largest of the zucchini was bigger than Paisley and nearly the size of my entire leg (standard-sized banana next to it in the bottom right photo for comparison). The thigh-high behemoth will be going to a dear friend with a larger immediate family later this week.

We also added a giveaway box of cucumbers to our front step for delivery drivers. We still have loads of cukes left. Please send us your favorite cucumber and zucchini recipes!

Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama was sharing our ginormous zucchini and plethora of cucumbers with friends! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!
